About Macka’s Sand and Soil Supplies
Macka’s Sand and Soil processes and provides sand and sand products to a range of markets and is situated north of Newcastle in the Hunter/Port Stephens Region. It has been operating since 1992 and provides sand for glass making, foundries, cement, golf courses and the construction industry. Macka’s Sand and Soil also exports the highly sought after finer, clean sand to various markets overseas.
Product quality, availability and service are the key components of the business that set it apart from competitors within the industries Macka’s Sand and Soil operates. Macka’s Sand and Soil has extended opening hours between 5am and 10pm Williamtown and 6am to 6pm at Salt Ash and can develop specialised mixes for individual jobs. The company caters for regions throughout NSW from Tamworth to Coffs Harbour, Canberra to Sydney.
Macka’s’ name sake, Robert MacKenzie, is the energetic Director of the business and is responsible for winning the tender to manage the very special Central Site. He recognised the importance of the site to the traditional owners and was awarded the management of the Worimi Conservation Lands. The Central Site is home to around 300 acres of sand dunes that increase in size each year into the surrounding bushland. The sand resource found here is vital to the Asian Regional market as other, more traditional pit quarries deplete.
The company takes their responsibility to the local community and land seriously and supports many local concerns listed on the community page.
